Fly fishing trips to Argentine Patagonia

I am Baptiste Conquet, a French state-certified fly fishing guide and instructor. I design fishing trips to the north of Neuquén province, a wild Patagonia few anglers know. I also chase the mythical golden dorado in northern Argentina, and I guide in Aveyron and Lozère, on the rivers where I grew up.

Baptiste Conquet

State-certified fly fishing guide and instructor.

Born in Espalion, on the banks of the Lot in Aveyron, I passed my diploma in Lozère and have been a state-certified guide since 2020. Fifteen years criss-crossing Argentina and the Andes, fluent Spanish. Over there I design the trips with Patagonia Trashumante, whose licensed team guides on site, and I stay with the anglers from the first day to the last.

01 · THE TERRITORY

A Patagonia without the crowds

More than 400 km of rivers of every profile, in a land that swings between arid steppe, volcanoes and giant valleys, deep in the Andes. You meet nobody out there, apart from the gauchos who live on it.

02 · THE FISH

Trout that rise without a doubt

Wild browns and rainbows, all naturally spawned: no stocking here. A strong density of fish with a fine average size. Long drifts with big flies, and they come up with a confidence long gone elsewhere.

03 · THE TABLE

Gaucho gastronomy

Asado, chivito a la llama and traditional Argentine dishes, cooked at the water's edge and served with Malbec. Local produce, honest cooking, meals that count as much as the fish.

"The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope."

"A great day in Baptiste's company working on European nymphing. Very good advice on the casting motion, positioning, rigging the line... and a sharp sense of the river that got us into some very fine fishing!"

"I spent a great day with Baptiste, who answered my very specific request perfectly: learning to fish dry-dropper on a small river. Mission accomplished, hands down..."
