I guide in Lozère on the upper Tarn, the Tarn gorges, the Lot, the Allier and the Truyère: guided days, courses and first-time sessions in the least populated department of France, the one where every river rises. Lozère is also where I passed my guide diploma.

A land of great open spaces, Lozère is known for the beauty of its unspoiled nature and for a rare distinction: it is the only department in mainland France where every river that flows through it also has its source. Fishing country through and through, and fly water above all.
Lozère divides into four distinct natural zones, each with a decor of its own. The rivers hold their rank, and the scale of the landscape adds a touch of magic when you fish these waters.
In the least populated department in France, you feel privileged just being there. Some days you meet no one at all on the river, and you let yourself dream you are the first ever to lay a fly on it.
