I guide in Aveyron through the whole fishing season: courses, first-time sessions and guided fly fishing days on the Tarn, the Lot, the Dourbie and quieter streams, for beginners and seasoned anglers alike. A state-certified guide born in Espalion, I have known these rivers since childhood.
An authentic land, made for fly fishing
Set deep in the Massif Central, Aveyron is one of the largest departments in France. This land of character is where I was born and raised: I come from Espalion, at the gates of the great Aubrac plateau.
Aveyron divides into several natural regions. Between limestone causses and high rocky plateaus, the Truyère, the Lot, the Aveyron and the Tarn have carved deep valleys. In the north, acidic streams are the rule, born of the basalt and granite that make up that part of the territory. In the south, the water comes off limestone and runs clear: discretion and fine tackle are the order of the day.
I will guide you along rivers with names that ring: the Tarn, the Lot, the Dourbie. Sometimes we head for lesser-known rivers and streams that deserve the visit, for their beauty, their wild and unspoiled character, and for the fine wild brown trout that live in them.

On the water
Depending on the conditions of the day, we fish the different branches of fly fishing: dry fly, European nymphing, dry-dropper, wet fly, streamer. Each technique brings you a step closer to real autonomy on the river.
We will also work on reading the water, watching the river to figure out where the fish holds and how it behaves. In trout fishing, that point decides most of the rest.
What I offer
First-time sessions to learn casting and reading the water, coaching in dry fly, nymph or streamer, and guided days on stretches matched to your level.
Non-fishing companions are welcome, and since I know the area well, I will gladly help you build your stay in Aveyron or Lozère: places to stay, sights, food, transport.
